"Shane Mathews has represented the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in the style that we appreciate. He is an outstanding young man and has an incredible talent. He has the potential to help bring back the real country music that everyone wants."

Tommie Ritter Smith, President, Texas Country Music Hall of Fame

"I think Shane is 'Retro Refreshing'. His honest traditional sound is the stuff country music used to be made of
. . .maybe Shane can help make the old new and cool again."

Linda Davis, Grammy Award Winner/Nashville Recording Artist

"Shane is a 'Young Ray Price'."

Aubrey Freeman, Songwriter of the hit Skeeter Davis song "Optimistic"

"I have been producing a Country Music Concert every weekend in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex for the past 34 years---Current stars such as LeAnn Rimes, Steve Holy, Linda Davis and many more spent many of their early years as members of our cast. (LeAnn Rimes for 6 years.) So I think I am qualified to know a really good country music vocalist when I hear one and Shane Mathews is definitely one of these. He has a strong, powerful voice, projects well, looks great on stage and seems to be very humble."

Will 'Ringo' Lewis
Lead Guitar & Non Pedal Steel
Led by Will 'Ringo' Lewis, the Tailor Made Band members have been surrounded by music all their lives. Will began playing guitar at age 13, thanks to help from his brother Tom and cousin Huey 'Hoot' Lewis. Later, Texas Swing guitarist Jerome Stubbs, introduced him to the signature Western Swing style of the great Bob Wills & The Texas Playboys. While a student at Angelina College, Will performed as a charter member of the jazz band and garnered several awards including "Outstanding Musicianship" from the IJEA. After completing his degree at Stephen F. Austin State University, he continued to refine his technique while searching for other like-minded souls. Finally, in 1997, he joined forces with Cody Wood, Derek Billingsly and lead singer Shane Mathews to form the Tailor Made Band.

Cody Wood
Stand Up Bass
When he was just a young boy, Cody Wood's mother taught him to play the piano. Later as a teenager, he picked up a guitar and eventually the bass. Cody too, studied music at Angelina College. There he found his calling as an upright bassist under the direction of Kevin Kelly. While a student, he was equally lauded for his musical abilities, winning several awards and distinctions. He continues today as a stand out musician, having performed with such artists as Django Walker, Wade Hayes, 'Perfect Stranger' and Jerry Jeff Walker.

SHANE MATHEWS & The Tailor Made Band performs a wide variety of music including straight country ballads, Boogie Woogie, Cowboy, Western Swing and Traditional Country Music Standards. The band received several recent Will Rogers Awards including Western Swing Group of the Year, Album of the Year "Texas Swings Again", Song of the Year, Vocalist of the Year and Instrumentalist of the Year. Their music has traveled the airways to Scotland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Australia, Canada and back home to the United States.
